Buzzard on a post, handpainted cup

€55.00Price

This sight is a sight that I see allmost weekly. On the biking route to my atelier, I bike past the Krimstermolen (a mill) and often there is a buzzard sitting on a post there. I've been looking up the spiritual meaning of buzzards and one way to learn from them is to learn from their patience. Just like herons actually. Buzzards appear to be able to sit for a lengthy time on a post, gazing across the fields. And this exact image grabs that. Not only the idea of the buzzard, but the whole setting as a whole. This setting exists and will maybe exist longer than me. Maybe generations of buzzards will sit on those posts (they are good posts) and look out over these field. A timeless image.

She is handpinched from natural stoneware clay, illustrated with a kobalt blue underglaze and then topped with a transparent glossy glaze for a food friendly finish. There is only one of this cup and she can be a nice cup for coffee.

Cup is dishwasher proof, but ceramics do like to be handwashed because thats a bit less agressive.

Approx. diameter 7 cm, height 7 cm, weight approx. 280g
