Takin steps (a5)
When summer was fading into fall this year, I noticed that I was seeing a lot less herons. I wondered why, maybe they need a bigger territory for themselves in winter? Being the einzelgangers that they are? So you might understand my suprise when I saw three herons in the same field last week! Wow!
I sketched and sketched and this sketch eventually stood out. There is this movement in it that I like. I drew the heron just on the verge of a step and so the sketch ended up with three legs. Heron is on the move. Where will heron go? Will I see heron again?
This print is in a5 format and is a limited edition.
I go to this little printshop in the city of Groningen where I have direct contact with the printmaker. I've let her be printed on 300 gram biotop paper. As a finishing touch I've removed the hard edges of the print, to really make a smooth finish.
The print is signed and numbered (edition of 25).
