The egyptian goose cup

The egyptian goose cup

€65.00Price

This was the first cup that was made for the collection and also the first image that grasped Christina's eye while starting her bikeroute. This was around the end of february, when there were goose honking everywhere. The egyptian goose appears to be an exotic variation of the geese, that was imported from Egypt to be an exotic pet for Dutch nobility. A couple escaped and realised that the Netherlands was a fine place to breed, and so we now have Egyptian geese. In this cup one lands in the outstretched fields. Outstretched fields (next to the outstretched sea) is a favorite view of us. A place to breathe and just be.

This is a wheel thrown cup from stoneware clay, created by Lydia. She was handpainted with cobalt blue underglaze by Christina and topped with a glossy transparent glaze. She was fired with a top temperature of 1250 degrees celcius.

This cup is unique. Small imperfections are part of the handmade aesthetic.
