The flying heron, handpainted plate

One of those items that you'll only create once. The heron in flight - just lifted off. I've seen this image countless times. Often because when I see a heron in the field, I step off my bike to draw him/her and then the heron decides that this human with the intense eyes is a bit weird and so, flies off.

I still can't believe that I actually manage to draw a heron on a plate like this. Underglaze is a bit tricky to work with (when you paint it on, it's light pink and a bit thick) and that this plate has survived all the baking cycles and came out.. so stunningly beautiful. This plate is my pride. And I really hope that she will fly to a lovely home that will cherish her.

This plate is made by hand, with stoneware clay and glazed with a clean glossy (and food safe) glaze for a comfortable everyday use. Only one available. This item likes being washed by hand, but dishwasher is ok too. Small imperfections are part of the crooked garden aesthetic.

Plate: approx. diameter in length 25,5 cm weight approx. 400g
