The heron in the woods mug

A heron in the woods where I love to have a walk. There is this little space where there is a bit of water and an open view into the distance, which I have made a suggestion of on this painting. I saw these two herons a month ago, both in the works of building a nest, looking for twigs that they could place high up in the tops of the trees.

This is a wheel thrown cup from stoneware clay, created by Lydia. She was handpainted with cobalt blue underglaze by Christina and topped with a glossy transparent glaze. She was fired with a top temperature of 1250 degrees celcius. 

This cup is unique. Small imperfections are part of the handmade aesthetic.
