The pigeon mug

This pigeon was lounging in a tree covered by ivy. Ivy's look a lot like heart shapes, we've noticed so this resulted in an image that not only feels rooted but also very loved. Covered in hearts. Pigeon's are one of those birds that you barely notice, because of how common they are, but did you know that they stand for peace, love and freedom?

This is a wheel thrown cup from stoneware clay, created by Lydia. She was handpainted with cobalt blue underglaze by Christina and topped with a matte transparent glaze. She was fired with a top temperature of 1250 degrees celcius. 

This cup is unique. Small imperfections are part of the handmade aesthetic.
