Two coots in the creek, handpainted mug

With a dynamic and organic combination between partially scratching out the glaze and then covering it with a couple brushstrokes, it is every time a suprise how the end result will turn out. For this cup I worked with the idea of two coots in the creek. I have a moment drawing of this moment, drawn close to the mill on my route. Coots are often together and I enjoy the way that they make lines in the water, especially during the golden hour.

She is handpinched from natural stoneware clay and glazed with a matte white glaze on the outside, and glossy white on the inside for a food friendly finish. Topped with a ultramarine blue painting of two coots in a creek. There is only one of this mug.

Mug is dishwasher proof, but ceramics do like to be handwashed because thats a bit less agressive.

Approx. diameter 8,5 cm, height 6,5 cm, weight approx. 340g
